Shackleton

Large residential and mixed-use development completed in a number of phases and part of the wider Adamstown SDZ lands. 

The masterplan for the area included a local centre, schools, and a large public park with playing fields. Initial designs began in 2016 with final completions in late 2022. The overall development of 840 units creates a new neighbourhood in the Lucan area. The scheme consists of a variety of 3 and 4 bed family homes, own door duplex blocks and a number of 4 to 5 storey apartment blocks. Variety of building height together with strategic landmark blocks and local pockets of open space were key elements in the approach to placemaking throughout the scheme. 

The development is defined by strong brick facades with stone detailing, extensive shared surface home zone areas and high-quality hard and soft landscaping. At 48 units the development provides sustainable densities while maintaining a high proportion of own door units and private ownership.
