Site Strategy
Shackleton is delivered within the framework of the Adamstown SDZ, creating a new residential neighbourhood that balances density, character and integration with surrounding development. The masterplan establishes a coherent urban structure of streets and blocks, defined by a central green axis and strategic landmark buildings, embedding placemaking at the core of this suburban expansion.

Movement Strategy
The layout is shaped by a connected and legible street hierarchy, integrating with wider Adamstown transport infrastructure. Primary streets provide efficient vehicle access and public transport connections, while generous footpaths, cycle lanes and local routes create a safe, walkable environment that supports active travel and neighbourhood connectivity.

Urban Design Concept
The masterplan combines varied housing types—from family homes and own-door duplexes to four- and five-storey apartment buildings—organised around open spaces, home zones and key corners. Architectural rhythm, façade variation and a strong street edge contribute to a cohesive and distinctive identity, supporting a socially diverse and visually engaging community.
Placemaking-led neighbourhood within the Adamstown SDZ through housing mix, connected streets and high-quality open spaces
Shackleton forms part of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ), delivering over 800 homes and crèche at a key location. A structured masterplan of streets, blocks and open spaces integrates a mix of family houses, duplexes and apartments with strategic green links and civic corners, creating a walkable, characterful neighbourhood which defined by its public realm and architectural variety.
